Good things come in small packages!

I always thought it would be wonderful to have a surprise wedding - to gather a group of friends and family around for dinner or a bbq, and then, when the moment presents itself, ask everyone to ‘be quiet for 10 minutes while you get married’. How much fun would that be!

It was this idea that prompted me to specialise in smaller ceremonies that offer more flexibility, are more fluid and are a whole lot less stressful!

Minimony or Elopement

A short, simple ceremony, like a registry ceremony. A minimony or elopement covers the legal requirements in front of two witnesses - you choose the date, time and venue. I can organise witnesses if required.

Why would you choose an elopement or minimony over a registry ceremony? It’s about flexibility and choice - in New Zealand, registry ceremonies must take place between business hours (9am to 5pm) on a weekday and they cannot take place on a public holiday.

Micro-wedding

A wedding ceremony with a smaller group (up to 30) of your nearest and dearest attending. The ceremony can be personalised, and can include a ritual and/or a reading, but because everyone attending already knows your love-story, we don’t need to retell it and we don’t need to rehearse it! Write your own vows or choose from my resources. Taupō has many unique settings for a micro-wedding, including a lot of of well-located holiday homes with private access to the lakefront.
